For over 20 years, the artisans at Motawi Tileworks have hand-crafted art tile. These distinctive tiles are known for their rich glazes and uniquely American designs inspired by nature, art, and architecture. Frank Lloyd Wright’s drawing of a tile frieze for the Avery Coonley House was the basis for Motawi Tileworks’ 4×4 Avery Tulip art tile. While the drawing was never executed on the house, the design remains an early example of Wright’s geometric nature abstractions.
